Scot graduated from the University of Utah with degrees in International Business and Political Science with a Minor in Japanese. After graduation, Scot worked in the Import Export business in Southern California where he was introduced to the Commercial Real Estate market. After representing a group of private investors for a year, Scot saw the potential of the Utah market, moved back and started working for Grubb & Ellis Utah. Coldwell Banker Commercial offered Scot a prominent position within their Retail Division in 1998.
Struck by leading resources and nationwide network, he was also delighted by the opportunity to join some of the most adept commercial brokers in the state of Utah. Scot has enjoyed representing and working with such companies as McDonald's, Burger King, Xcel Fitness, Blockbuster Video, Subway, Quizno's, Great Harvest Bread, Fantastic Sam's, Great Clips, H & R Block, Pier 49 San Francisco Sour Dough Pizza, Michelin Tires, Kaverner Bowen Engineering, Universal Business Insurance, Bank of American Fork, and numerous others. He also represents David Early Tire and is in the process of site selections in numerous markets across the state. Furthermore, Scot represents Wingers Restaurant and is doing site selections for Wingers Corporate Office and their franchises in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Washington State, Oregon, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Illinois. He is also in the process of doing site selections and build to suits for 10 Denny's restaurants.
Scot also focuses on 1031 exchanges and investment properties. He is well versed in 1031 exchange requirements and has helped many clients with their investments needs. Scot recently represented clients in the sell of the following properties; a 78,000 square foot shopping center in West Valley, a 4 million dollar, 37,000 square foot shopping center in American Fork, and a $1.8 million dollar, 22,000 square foot retail center in Spanish Fork. Scot also recently sold Grandpa Maddox Restaurant located in South Jordan, for 2.4 million dollars.
Furthermore, Scot works with numerous developers in site selection and development of retail ground. He is currently working on developments in 1) Tooele which includes a Super Walmart that will open June 15, 2000, 2) 70 acre retail multi-use development in Payson, 3) 360 acre multi-use development just adjacent to the Intel Campus located in Riverton 4) a 28 acre mixed use development at the mouth of Provo Canyon. This development includes 300,000 square feet of class A office space and 100,000 square feet of retail.
