Jim Wood has been active in commercial real estate in Alaska market for over 23 years. His career began with property management and over seeing of more than 1.5 million square feet of retail and office space throughout Alaska. Jim's career expanded to include leasing and development of commercial projects. He specializes in bringing landlords and tenants together to the mutual benefit of both along with the surrounding community. He is known and respected throughout the market as a man of integrity with a fine sense of humor.
Jim previously served as Broker for Meritage Realty USA LLC, and Sr. Vice President of Development for Meritage Development Group LLC. As such, he operates a commercial real estate brokerage and coordinates and manages development and leasing of several large mixed-use developments totaling 750,000 GLA.
Jim handles site selection for various national tenants including Starbucks, Regis/ Mastercuts, FedEx/Kinko's Payless Shoe Source, Sally Beauty, British Petroleum and the General Services Administration.
He resides in Eagle River, Alaska with his wife Jo. Jim enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, photography, travel and most importantly, spending time with his family.
